Sin worked fast. His fingers moved with precision, sliding the sealed bags into his backpack. His ears were useless, but his senses were sharp.
Every crinkle of plastic felt louder than it should be.
Rico stood by the door, head bobbing slightly—a nervous tic. Sin knew his brother well enough to see the tension in his shoulders.
Then— Knock. Knock. Knock.
Rico went rigid. His breath hitched, his head snapping toward the door.
Sin caught it from the corner of his eye. Without thinking, his fingers twitched toward his waistband, wrapping around the cold steel of his .45 Smith & Wesson.
Rico moved fast, slamming Sin’s wrist down before he could lift the gun.
"What the fuck you doing?" Rico mouthed furiously. "No guns! NO!"
Sin squinted at him but didn’t resist. He kept his breathing slow. His pulse was hammering, but he refused to show it.
"Ayo, ignore the door!" Rash hollered from the bathroom. "That’s not the code knock. I don’t know who that is."
Sin inhaled sharply.
Not cops. Probably another buyer.
But they weren’t in the clear. Not yet.
