Sin's expression cold, unreadable. A half-wrapped sandwich on the counter. Bulletproof glass behind them. Sin did not flinch. He never did.
The detective's hand barely made contact-just a tap on the shoulder-but Sin's body reacted before thought could catch up. He whipped around, arm shooting up in a flash, swatting the cop's touch away with practiced violence.
Instant tension.
The room shifted. Energy changed. The air got tight.
The detective squared up fast. His stance hardened like he was ready for a fight. "Hey, hey, hey-what's your problem, man?"
Sin just stared.
Not a word. Not a sign.
His body still. His face blank. But his eyes? Burning. Unapologetic. Disrespectful in a way that only silence can be.
Rico slid between them like a blade-sharp, fast, precise. "Sir. That's my brother. He's deaf."

And he knew how to perform. But what happened next turned a tense standoff into an unforgettable performance.

You had me at the tap on the shoulder here, Darius. I look forward to the next chapter. Your subject matter here is not what I usually choose, but your writing style is irresistible.
I like the grit in the stories atmosphere. Serious. I'm guessing Sin might have tried to kick it up a notch in response to the intimidation he must have felt but perhaps something cools it off for him. Thanks for sharing Darius
